New machining centres for connector processing

It’s the start of a new chapter for connector processing at PFW Aerospace GmbH: the new and almost unmanned production of connecting pieces for fuel pipes in aircraft wings is running smoothly.

Five plant operators, who have trained in the supervision of the machines, work on the twelve machining centres for twisting and cutting. Rupert Kästel, sales and marketing manager, says: ‘The investment in these four robot units for around 35,000 connectors a year secures workplaces at the Speyer location against the low-paying competition, and we are also working with much higher process reliability levels’.
